X Ambassadors are an American rock band from Ithaca, New York known for their passionate, dark, electronic-based pop centered around the throaty, soulful vocals of Sam Harris. Daya is a Grammy-winning platinum artist who recorded her first single at 16, when she was still a junior in high school. It’s Episode 8 of The Good Parts and Andy sits down with Bear and Bo, the brothers who lead the band NEEDTOBREATHE, before their sold out show at The Greek Theater in Los Angeles. The self-described “band you’ve never heard of” talk to Andy about the slow creep of their success, the famous rough patch that nearly broke up the band, and the manifests they wrote to keep it going.

Needtobreathe is a rock band from South Carolina, founded in 2000 by Bear and Bo Rinehart. They’ve released six albums that have topped the Billboard charts, and were nominated for a Grammy in 2015. Their Acoustic Live album will be released in November 2018, and feature songs that were recorded live from the acoustic leg of their All The Feels tour in 2017.

In episode 6, LA-based singer/songwriter Tori Kelly sits down with Andy to talk about her new R&B-infused gospel album “Hiding Place”. Tori and Andy discuss what it means to make a gospel record with legendary producer Kirk Franklin, which track on her new album brought Andy to tears, why they’re both part of the boring club, and Andy reads a poem.

Tori Kelly was signed to a Geffen Records at age 12, began posting videos to YouTube at age 14, and released her first EP “Handmade by Tori Kelly” in 2012 - a record that she wrote, produced, engineered, and recorded by herself in her bedroom. Since then, she’s been a force in the music world, winning Grammy nominations in 2015 and 2016, and becoming the first artist in history to perform a Christian pop song at the Grammy Awards.
