EPISODE 4
Five-time Grammy nominee and platinum-selling country star Hunter Hayes began performing and playing music professionally at a very young age. A multi talented singer and songwriter, he’s able to play more than 30 instruments and had his first breakout hit at the age of 20, on a debut album that went double platinum. Billboard has called him "the Leader of Country Music's Youth Revolution". In this episode, Andy sits down with Hunter in his Nashville studio, where the pair wrote the newly released single “Dear God”, which Andy describes as a very “Good Parts” song.
The song deals with struggling with self doubt, which Andy and Hunter get into as they talk about their experiences as successful artists. Hunter talks openly about his life as a young prodigy and what he’s trying to refine now, as he works on new music. And in true “Good Parts” style, they try to answer thought provoking questions like “Why are we here?” (on earth), discuss the importance of happiness, and why getting lost in music is as powerful as meditation.
